What We (and Our Partners) Thought About the State of the Union Address
Tuesday, in reaction to President Obama’s State of the Union speech, Higher Ed, Not Debt Campaign Manager Maggie Thompson released the following statement:
“We applaud the president for offering policy solutions that focus on both current student debt and stopping the student loan crisis for future borrowers. President Obama’s focus on student debt demonstrates this issue affects not only borrowers and students, but also our entire economy. We are heartened the president is taking steps to not just help current borrowers succeed, but also restore higher education’s status as a public good by making two years of community college free.”
