Go Tell Them: Higher Ed Has Us #InTheRed
President Obama’s final State of the Union Address is on tonight (watch it live below). There are 43 million of us with student loans, and the student debt crisis deserves more than just a passing mention. That’s why senators are banding together today to launch the #InTheRed campaign, letting you know you’ve not been forgotten.
College costs continue to rise, our current student debt is unmanageable, and politicians have yet to take meaningful action to reform higher education financing. Legislators need to have a plan for the student debt crisis and we need to make them hear our stories.
Send an email to your legislators in just a few clicks asking them to come forward with a plan that not only helps future students who are #InTheRed, but those of us who already have student debt as well.
Other actions you can take:
- Retweet us to get some buzz going before the State of the Union.
- Share this on Twitter so legislators and the media know this matters to you.
- Share this on Facebook so your friends know just how many of us need this issue to matter to Washington.
Watch the State of the Union at 9 p.m. ET and tweet on #InTheRed.
