The Department of Education will soon begin a process to rewrite and weaken two important rules – the Borrower Defense to Repayment Rule and the Gainful Employment Rule. These rules exist to protect students from ineffective, expensive career education programs and give them recourse if they were defrauded by a predatory school. By moving to gut these rules, DeVos has made it clear where her loyalties lie, and it’s not with students.
We need to let Betsy DeVos know that it’s her job to defend students – not protect bad-acting institutions and the bottom line of for-profit schools. Join us by signing the petition and join the conversation using #DefendStudents.
